Stretch the perspective at wide angles or bring subjects into sharp focus at up to 3x zoom. The uniquely configured lens compensates for wideangle distortion, an issue with lesser cameras, to suppress chromatic aberration and edge light falloff. So high resolution and contrast reach to the very corners of your photos. A macro mode is also provided for capturing subjects as close as 1cm from the lens at the 24mm setting (4cm at 72mm setting).
Removable LCD viewfinder for SLR-style shooting:
Simply mount the removable LCD viewfinder in the hot shoe to enjoy SLR-style operation when framing and zooming. You'll enjoy 100% image coverage with synchronized focal length and no parallax error. This viewfinder is also useful when outdoor lighting is too strong for clear viewing on the LCD monitor. It can even be tilted for convenient low-angle shooting.
Vibration correction for clear hand-held shooting
The Caplio GX100 features CCD-shift-type vibration correction. So you can shoot clear, blur-free photos without a tripod in dark environments and venues where flash photography is prohibited. Flash-free shooting is also a great way to capture all the beauty of natural lighting and shadows.
Accessories expand your photo options
The optionally available 19mm wide conversion lens (DW-6) can give your photos a unique perspective: a field of view wider than seen by the naked eye. Mounting of the lens requires the optional HA-2 adapter, which includes a hood for reducing the ghosting and halation caused by oblique rays.
Note: Using the built-in flash with the wide conversion lens can cause barrel vignetting and is not advised.
