Sony is upgrading its basic Memory Stick PRO Duo(TM) media line. The new enhanced line benefits from the same extended durability as the high-speed version, which has a wider operating temperature range of between -25°C and 85°C (compared to the previous range of 0°C to 60°C). The new 512 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo(TM) offers affordable memory for high-capacity memory users. It works with an array of different applications including Sony MP3 audio recorders, video cameras and computers with a Memory Stick(TM) slot. It is equipped with MagicGate(TM)T: copyright protection software that consists of authentication and encryption technologies. It has a theoretical maximum data transfer speed of 160 Mbps (20 MB / sec) with a minimum write speed of 15 Mbps to ensure high-quality, real-time recording of moving images. The Memory Stick PRO Duo(TM) is a scaleable solution, designed with the future in mind, and continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of users as well as the requirements of new and exciting applications.
