Intelligent AF (autofocus)
Your subjects need never again be out of focus in your photos! The intelligent AF function automatically focuses in on the ideal field of view and captures it clearly. The technology behind this feature recognises the size and contours of subjects when the shutter release button is pressed half way down and then automatically selects the optimum focus. All you have to do is relax and wait for the right moment, then press the shutter release button!
28 mm wide-angle lens with 4x optical zoom
The combination of the 28 mm wide-angle* design and 4x optical zoom makes the EX-Z450 the perfect companion for every occasion — you have plenty of scope to take photos, be it of your loved ones, beautiful sights or romantic sunsets. Whether you're in a small room, a car or on a ferris wheel – the 28 mm focal distance enables you to capture a larger area, allowing you to snap more of your friends for posterity in a close-up group photo, and much more.
Improved Dynamic Photo function
Thanks to the new Dynamic Photo function, you can not only cut out subjects from an image series and insert them into other pictures, but you can also combine your photos with funny animations. You can adapt the size of the subject to best fit the background and the Dynamic Photo subjects can then be transformed into a video using the EXILIM camera itself. Let's go: Surprise your friends with a personal and funny "Dynamic Photo" greeting!
Landscape Mode
The EX-Z450 is equipped with a landscape mode for outstanding landscape photos. The "Vivid Landscape" feature analyses the images and intensifies the key colours. In addition, the "Mist Removal" option automatically reduces clouding, haziness or mist. The outcome is a clearer landscape or skyline with sharp contours and a bright sky.
Make-up Mode
The EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-Z450 also features a Make-up Mode Function for especially appealing portrait photographs. The outstanding image processing makes the skin on faces appear smoother and softens facial shadows caused by strong sunlight or illumination. You can select from twelve levels as desired – from minimum to maximum – and observe the effect on the TFT colour display while taking the photo. The EX-Z450 has a separate "Make-up Mode Button" to activate or de-activate the function quickly.
HD video recording
You can now film your videos in high-definition quality! Using the HD Movie Function in the EXILIM EX-Z450, you can make colourful and high-detail videos with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels – simply press the movie button and recording begins.
EXILIM Engine 4.0
Backlight, portrait photos, night-time photos and poor lighting conditions - the new EXILIM Engine 4.0 image processor enables you to overcome all these challenges. The EXILIM Engine 4.0 processes complex images very quickly and ensures excellent image quality with moiré and noise suppression, making it a pleasure to take and view excellent photos.

The EXILIM EX-Z450 features a large, bright 7.6 cm (3.0 inch) TFT colour display (Super Clear LCD) that permits viewing from almost any angle. In addition to the large viewing angle and a high resolution of 230,400 pixels, the TFT colour display provides above-average contrast, thus assuring an especially clear and sharp image of your subject.
