Designed with the digital photographer in mind, the new Epson P-6000 and P-7000 Multimedia Storage Viewers
are exceptional media management tools for photo enthusiasts and professionals who currently shoot, store and
view large quantities of digital images on location or while travelling. Building on the excellent reputation of the
multi-award winning P-3000 and P-5000, the new viewers feature improved software, a new Fine Premia LCD
screen and are much faster to operate making them a superb product for viewing and preparing photos.
For those who regularly use digital imaging equipment whether it is at home, in a professional studio environment
or out on the road, the new Epson Multimedia Storage Viewers are the ideal companion for backing up, archiving
and viewing your work more closely. Conventionally, digital images are taken to the computer for closer analysis,
but by using these products as part of your digital workflow, you have the flexibility to choose how you save,
delete and share your images without having to download to a computer. The photoviewers come with improved tools to review images so photographers can evaluate their work on the stunning quality screen and rate the quality of each shot, then simply download the best work for further editing. The design of the viewers has also
been improved with the addition of a wheel key, so scrolling through folders is quicker and easier. The 4.0” LCD screen incorporates Epson Photo Fine Premia technology which offers a wide gamut, wide angle display but also
low power consumption required for a portable device.
The P-6000 has an 80 GB Hard Drive, whereas the P-7000 has a 160 GB Hard drive for ample storage and
archiving space. Additionally the P-7000 comes with a Travel Pack as standard (as seen below), so working on
location is made even easier.
The new Multimedia Storage Viewers feature both JPEG and RAW support for all the major digital SLR camera
manufactures including Nikon, Canon, Konica Minolta, Pentax, Olympus and Fuji Film. Firmware is updated
regularly to ensure they remain up to date with the pace of development in the camera market. Therefore,
photographers can simply transfer their RAW images and view the results on the Photo Fine Premia screen. You
can even zoom into RAW files displayed on the screen with selected cameras. The improved media management
software includes advanced checking tools such as the focus assist check. This allows users to quickly identify
sharp areas in an image, thus making selection of chosen images a lot quicker and easier. In addition, it is now
possible to do ad hoc RAW development on the viewer so users can quickly prepare and print the images as an
index or a quick check print via PictBridge.
Within Photoshop the viewer can also be set up as a USB monitor to be used as secondary screen (via USB
monitor plug in). The user can now also make use of the supreme quality and gamut of the LCD when working on
files at home in Photoshop.
